1
And
there
came
two
angels
to
Sodom
at
even;
and
Lot
sat
in
the
gate
of
Sodom:
and
Lot
seeing
them
rose
up
to
meet
them;
and
he
bowed
himself
with
his
face
toward
the
ground;
2
And
he
said,
Behold
now,
my
lords,
turn
in,
I
pray
you,
into
your
servant's
house,
and
tarry
all
night,
and
wash
your
feet,
and
ye
shall
rise
up
early,
and
go
on
your
ways.
And
they
said,
Nay;
but
we
will
abide
in
the
street
all
night.
3
And
he
pressed
upon
them
greatly;
and
they
turned
in
unto
him,
and
entered
into
his
house;
and
he
made
them
a
feast,
and
did
bake
unleavened
bread,
and
they
did
eat.
4
But
before
they
lay
down,
the
men
of
the
city,
even
the
men
of
Sodom,
compassed
the
house
round,
both
old
and
young,
all
the
people
from
every
quarter:
5
And
they
called
unto
Lot,
and
said
unto
him,
Where
are
the
men
which
came
in
to
thee
this
night?
bring
them
out
unto
us,
that
we
may
know
them.
6
And
Lot
went
out
at
the
door
unto
them,
and
shut
the
door
after
him,
7
And
said,
I
pray
you,
brethren,
do
not
so
wickedly.
8
Behold
now,
I
have
two
daughters
which
have
not
known
man;
let
me,
I
pray
you,
bring
them
out
unto
you,
and
do
ye
to
them
as
is
good
in
your
eyes:
only
unto
these
men
do
nothing;
for
therefore
came
they
under
the
shadow
of
my
roof.
9
And
they
said,
Stand
back.
And
they
said
again,
This
one
fellow
came
in
to
sojourn,
and
he
will
needs
be
a
judge:
now
will
we
deal
worse
with
thee,
than
with
them.
And
they
pressed
sore
upon
the
man,
even
Lot,
and
came
near
to
break
the
door.
10
But
the
men
put
forth
their
hand,
and
pulled
Lot
into
the
house
to
them,
and
shut
to
the
door.
11
And
they
smote
the
men
that
were
at
the
door
of
the
house
with
blindness,
both
small
and
great:
so
that
they
wearied
themselves
to
find
the
door.
12
And
the
men
said
unto
Lot,
Hast
thou
here
any
besides?
son
in
law,
and
thy
sons,
and
thy
daughters,
and
whatsoever
thou
hast
in
the
city,
bring
them
out
of
this
place:
13
For
we
will
destroy
this
place,
because
the
cry
of
them
is
waxen
great
before
the
face
of
the
LORD;
and
the
LORD
hath
sent
us
to
destroy
it.
14
And
Lot
went
out,
and
spake
unto
his
sons
in
law,
which
married
his
daughters,
and
said,
Up,
get
you
out
of
this
place;
for
the
LORD
will
destroy
this
city.
But
he
seemed
as
one
that
mocked
unto
his
sons
in
law.
15
And
when
the
morning
arose,
then
the
angels
hastened
Lot,
saying,
Arise,
take
thy
wife,
and
thy
two
daughters,
which
are
here;
lest
thou
be
consumed
in
the
iniquity
of
the
city.
16
And
while
he
lingered,
the
men
laid
hold
upon
his
hand,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
wife,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
two
daughters;
the
LORD
being
merciful
unto
him:
and
they
brought
him
forth,
and
set
him
without
the
city.
17
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
they
had
brought
them
forth
abroad,
that
he
said,
Escape
for
thy
life;
look
not
behind
thee,
neither
stay
thou
in
all
the
plain;
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
thou
be
consumed.
18
And
Lot
said
unto
them,
Oh,
not
so,
my
Lord:
19
Behold
now,
thy
servant
hath
found
grace
in
thy
sight,
and
thou
hast
magnified
thy
mercy,
which
thou
hast
shewed
unto
me
in
saving
my
life;
and
I
cannot
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
some
evil
take
me,
and
I
die:
20
Behold
now,
this
city
is
near
to
flee
unto,
and
it
is
a
little
one:
Oh,
let
me
escape
thither,
(is
it
not
a
little
one?)
and
my
soul
shall
live.
21
And
he
said
unto
him,
See,
I
have
accepted
thee
concerning
this
thing
also,
that
I
will
not
overthrow
this
city,
for
the
which
thou
hast
spoken.
22
Haste
thee,
escape
thither;
for
I
cannot
do
any
thing
till
thou
be
come
thither.
Therefore
the
name
of
the
city
was
called
Zoar.
23
The
sun
was
risen
upon
the
earth
when
Lot
entered
into
Zoar.
24
Then
the
LORD
rained
upon
Sodom
and
upon
Gomorrah
brimstone
and
fire
from
the
LORD
out
of
heaven;
25
And
he
overthrew
those
cities,
and
all
the
plain,
and
all
the
inhabitants
of
the
cities,
and
that
which
grew
upon
the
ground.
26
But
his
wife
looked
back
from
behind
him,
and
she
became
a
pillar
of
salt.
27
And
Abraham
gat
up
early
in
the
morning
to
the
place
where
he
stood
before
the
LORD:
28
And
he
looked
toward
Sodom
and
Gomorrah,
and
toward
all
the
land
of
the
plain,
and
beheld,
and,
lo,
the
smoke
of
the
country
went
up
as
the
smoke
of
a
furnace.
29
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
God
destroyed
the
cities
of
the
plain,
that
God
remembered
Abraham,
and
sent
Lot
out
of
the
midst
of
the
overthrow,
when
he
overthrew
the
cities
in
the
which
Lot
dwelt.
30
And
Lot
went
up
out
of
Zoar,
and
dwelt
in
the
mountain,
and
his
two
daughters
with
him;
for
he
feared
to
dwell
in
Zoar:
and
he
dwelt
in
a
cave,
he
and
his
two
daughters.
31
And
the
firstborn
said
unto
the
younger,
Our
father
is
old,
and
there
is
not
a
man
in
the
earth
to
come
in
unto
us
after
the
manner
of
all
the
earth:
32
Come,
let
us
make
our
father
drink
wine,
and
we
will
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
33
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night:
and
the
firstborn
went
in,
and
lay
with
her
father;
and
he
perceived
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
34
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
the
firstborn
said
unto
the
younger,
Behold,
I
lay
yesternight
with
my
father:
let
us
make
him
drink
wine
this
night
also;
and
go
thou
in,
and
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
35
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night
also:
and
the
younger
arose,
and
lay
with
him;
and
he
perceived
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
36
Thus
were
both
the
daughters
of
Lot
with
child
by
their
father.
37
And
the
firstborn
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Moab:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
Moabites
unto
this
day.
38
And
the
younger,
she
also
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Benammi:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
children
of
Ammon
unto
this
day.

is
near
H7138
to
flee
H5127
unto,
H8033
and
it
H1931
is
a
little
one:
H4705
Oh,
H4994
let
me
escape
H4422
thither,
H8033
(
is
it
H1931
not
H3808
a
little
one
H4705
?)
and
my
soul
H5315
shall
live.
H2421
21
And
he
said
H559
unto
H413
him,
See,
H2009
I
have
accepted
H5375
H6440
thee
concerning
this
H2088
thing
H1697
also,
H1571
that
I
will
not
H1115
overthrow
H2015
H853
this
city,
H5892
for
the
which
H834
thou
hast
spoken.
H1696
22
Haste
H4116
thee,
escape
H4422
thither;
H8033
for
H3588
I
cannot
H3808
H3201
do
H6213
any
thing
H1697
till
H5704
thou
be
come
H935
thither.
H8033
Therefore
H5921
H3651
the
name
H8034
of
the
city
H5892
was
called
H7121
Zoar.
H6820
23
The
sun
H8121
was
risen
H3318
upon
H5921
the
earth
H776
when
Lot
H3876
entered
H935
into
Zoar.
H6820
24
Then
the
LORD
H3068
rained
H4305
upon
H5921
Sodom
H5467
and
upon
H5921
Gomorrah
H6017
brimstone
H1614
and
fire
H784
from
H4480
H854
the
LORD
H3068
out
of
H4480
heaven;
H8064
25
And
he
overthrew
H2015
H853
those
H411
cities,
H5892
and
all
H3605
the
plain,
H3603
and
all
H3605
the
inhabitants
H3427
of
the
cities,
H5892
and
that
which
grew
H6780
upon
the
ground.
H127
26
But
his
wife
H802
looked
H5027
back
from
behind
H4480
H310
him
,
and
she
became
H1961
a
pillar
H5333
of
salt.
H4417
27
And
Abraham
H85
got
up
early
H7925
in
the
morning
H1242
to
H413
the
place
H4725
where
H834
H8033
he
stood
H5975
H853
before
H6440
the
LORD:
H3068
28
And
he
looked
H8259
toward
H5921
H6440
Sodom
H5467
and
Gomorrah,
H6017
and
toward
H5921
H6440
all
H3605
the
land
H776
of
the
plain,
H3603
and
beheld,
H7200
and,
lo,
H2009
the
smoke
H7008
of
the
country
H776
went
up
H5927
as
the
smoke
H7008
of
a
furnace.
H3536
29
And
it
came
to
pass,
H1961
when
God
H430
destroyed
H7843
H853
the
cities
H5892
of
the
plain,
H3603
that
God
H430
remembered
H2142
H853
Abraham,
H85
and
sent
H7971
H853
Lot
H3876
out
of
the
midst
H4480
H8432
of
the
overthrow,
H2018
when
he
overthrew
H2015
H853
the
cities
H5892
in
the
which
H2004
H834
Lot
H3876
dwelt.
H3427
30
And
Lot
H3876
went
up
H5927
out
of
Zoar
H4480
H6820
,
and
dwelt
H3427
in
the
mountain,
H2022
and
his
two
H8147
daughters
H1323
with
H5973
him;
for
H3588
he
feared
H3372
to
dwell
H3427
in
Zoar:
H6820
and
he
dwelt
H3427
in
a
cave,
H4631
he
H1931
and
his
two
H8147
daughters.
H1323
31
And
the
firstborn
H1067
said
H559
unto
H413
the
younger,
H6810
Our
father
H1
is
old,
H2204
and
there
is
not
H369
a
man
H376
in
the
earth
H776
to
come
in
H935
unto
H5921
us
after
the
manner
H1870
of
all
H3605
the
earth:
H776
32
Come
H1980
,
let
us
make
H853
our
father
H1
drink
H8248
wine,
H3196
and
we
will
lie
H7901
with
H5973
him
,
that
we
may
preserve
H2421
seed
H2233
of
our
father
H4480
H1
.
33
And
they
made
H853
their
father
H1
drink
H8248
wine
H3196
that
H1931
night:
H3915
and
the
firstborn
H1067
went
in,
H935
and
lay
H7901
with
H854
her
father;
H1
and
he
perceived
H3045
not
H3808
when
she
lay
down,
H7901
nor
when
she
arose.
H6965
34
And
it
came
to
pass
H1961
on
the
morrow
H4480
H4283
,
that
the
firstborn
H1067
said
H559
unto
H413
the
younger,
H6810
Behold,
H2005
I
lay
H7901
last
night
H570
with
H854
my
father:
H1
let
us
make
him
drink
H8248
wine
H3196
this
night
H3915
also;
H1571
and
go
thou
in,
H935
and
lie
H7901
with
H5973
him
,
that
we
may
preserve
H2421
seed
H2233
of
our
father
H4480
H1
.
35
And
they
made
H853
their
father
H1
drink
H8248
wine
H3196
that
H1931
night
H3915
also:
H1571
and
the
younger
H6810
arose,
H6965
and
lay
H7901
with
H5973
him
;
and
he
perceived
H3045
not
H3808
when
she
lay
down,
H7901
nor
when
she
arose.
H6965
36
Thus
were
both
H8147
the
daughters
H1323
of
Lot
H3876
with
child
H2029
by
their
father
H4480
H1
.
37
And
the
firstborn
H1067
bore
H3205
a
son,
H1121
and
called
H7121
his
name
H8034
Moab:
H4124
the
same
H1931
is
the
father
H1
of
the
Moabites
H4124
unto
H5704
this
day.
H3117
38
And
the
younger,
H6810
she
H1931
also
H1571
bore
H3205
a
son,
H1121
and
called
H7121
his
name
H8034
Ben-
H1151
ammi
:
the
same
H1931
is
the
father
H1
of
the
children
H1121
of
Ammon
H5983
unto
H5704
this
day.

1
And
two
of
the
messengers
come
towards
Sodom
at
even,
and
Lot
is
sitting
at
the
gate
of
Sodom,
and
Lot
seeth,
and
riseth
to
meet
them,
and
boweth
himself
--
face
to
the
earth,
2
and
he
saith,
`Lo,
I
pray
you,
my
lords,
turn
aside,
I
pray
you,
unto
the
house
of
your
servant,
and
lodge,
and
wash
your
feet
--
then
ye
have
risen
early
and
gone
on
your
way;`
and
they
say,
`Nay,
but
in
the
broad
place
we
do
lodge.`
3
And
he
presseth
on
them
greatly,
and
they
turn
aside
unto
him,
and
come
in
unto
his
house;
and
he
maketh
for
them
a
banquet,
and
hath
baked
unleavened
things;
and
they
do
eat.
4
Before
they
lie
down,
the
men
of
the
city
--
men
of
Sodom
--
have
come
round
about
against
the
house,
from
young
even
unto
aged,
all
the
people
from
the
extremity;
5
and
they
call
unto
Lot
and
say
to
him,
`Where
are
the
men
who
have
come
in
unto
thee
to-night?
bring
them
out
unto
us,
and
we
know
them.`
6
And
Lot
goeth
out
unto
them,
to
the
opening,
and
the
door
hath
shut
behind
him,
7
and
saith,
`Do
not,
I
pray
you,
my
brethren,
do
evil;
8
lo,
I
pray
you,
I
have
two
daughters,
who
have
not
known
any
one;
let
me,
I
pray
you,
bring
them
out
unto
you,
and
do
to
them
as
is
good
in
your
eyes;
only
to
these
men
do
not
anything,
for
therefore
have
they
come
in
within
the
shadow
of
my
roof.`
9
And
they
say,
`Come
nigh
hither;`
they
say
also,
`This
one
hath
come
in
to
sojourn,
and
he
certainly
judgeth!
now,
we
do
evil
to
thee
more
than
to
them;`
and
they
press
against
the
man,
against
Lot
greatly,
and
come
nigh
to
break
the
door.
10
And
the
men
put
forth
their
hand,
and
bring
in
Lot
unto
them,
into
the
house,
and
have
shut
the
door;
11
and
the
men
who
are
at
the
opening
of
the
house
they
have
smitten
with
blindness,
from
small
even
unto
great,
and
they
weary
themselves
to
find
the
opening.
12
And
the
men
say
unto
Lot,
`Whom
hast
thou
here
still?
son-in-law,
thy
sons
also,
and
thy
daughters,
and
all
whom
thou
hast
in
the
city,
bring
out
from
this
place;
13
for
we
are
destroying
this
place,
for
their
cry
hath
been
great
before
the
face
of
Jehovah,
and
Jehovah
doth
send
us
to
destroy
it.`
14
And
Lot
goeth
out,
and
speaketh
unto
his
sons-in-law,
those
taking
his
daughters,
and
saith,
`Rise,
go
out
from
this
place,
for
Jehovah
is
destroying
the
city;`
and
he
is
as
one
mocking
in
the
eyes
of
his
sons-in-law.
15
And
when
the
dawn
hath
ascended,
then
the
messengers
press
upon
Lot,
saying,
`Rise,
take
thy
wife,
and
thy
two
daughters
who
are
found
present,
lest
thou
be
consumed
in
the
iniquity
of
the
city.`
16
And
he
lingereth,
and
the
men
lay
hold
on
his
hand,
and
on
the
hand
of
his
wife,
and
on
the
hand
of
his
two
daughters,
through
the
mercy
of
Jehovah
unto
him,
and
they
bring
him
out,
and
cause
him
to
rest
without
the
city.
17
And
it
cometh
to
pass
when
he
hath
brought
them
out
without,
that
he
saith,
`Escape
for
thy
life;
look
not
expectingly
behind
thee,
nor
stand
thou
in
all
the
circuit;
to
the
mountain
escape,
lest
thou
be
consumed.`
18
And
Lot
saith
unto
them,
`Not
so
,
I
pray
thee,
my
lord;
19
lo,
I
pray
thee,
thy
servant
hath
found
grace
in
thine
eyes,
and
thou
dost
make
great
thy
kindness
which
thou
hast
done
with
me
by
saving
my
life,
and
I
am
unable
to
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
the
evil
cleave
to
me,
and
I
have
died;
20
lo,
I
pray
thee,
this
city
is
near
to
flee
thither,
and
it
is
little;
let
me
escape,
I
pray
thee,
thither,
(is
it
not
little?)
and
my
soul
doth
live.`
21
And
he
saith
unto
him,
`Lo,
I
have
accepted
thy
face
also
for
this
thing,
without
overthrowing
the
city
for
which
thou
hast
spoken;
22
haste,
escape
thither,
for
I
am
not
able
to
do
anything
till
thine
entering
thither;`
therefore
hath
he
calleth
the
name
of
the
city
Zoar.
23
The
sun
hath
gone
out
on
the
earth,
and
Lot
hath
entered
into
Zoar,
24
and
Jehovah
hath
rained
upon
Sodom
and
upon
Gomorrah
brimstone
and
fire
from
Jehovah,
from
the
heavens;
25
and
He
overthroweth
these
cities,
and
all
the
circuit,
and
all
the
inhabitants
of
the
cities,
and
that
which
is
shooting
up
from
the
ground.
26
And
his
wife
looketh
expectingly
from
behind
him,
and
she
is
--
a
pillar
of
salt!
27
And
Abraham
riseth
early
in
the
morning,
unto
the
place
where
he
hath
stood
before
the
face
of
Jehovah;
28
and
he
looketh
on
the
face
of
Sodom
and
Gomorrah,
and
on
all
the
face
of
the
land
of
the
circuit,
and
seeth,
and
lo,
the
smoke
of
the
land
went
up
as
smoke
of
the
furnace.
29
And
it
cometh
to
pass,
in
God`s
destroying
the
cities
of
the
circuit,
that
God
remembereth
Abraham,
and
sendeth
Lot
out
of
the
midst
of
the
overthrow
in
the
overthrowing
of
the
cities
in
which
Lot
dwelt.
30
And
Lot
goeth
up
out
of
Zoar,
and
dwelleth
in
the
mountain,
and
his
two
daughters
with
him,
for
he
hath
been
afraid
of
dwelling
in
Zoar,
and
he
dwelleth
in
a
cave,
he
and
his
two
daughters.
31
And
the
first-born
saith
unto
the
younger,
`Our
father
is
old,
and
a
man
there
is
not
in
the
earth
to
come
in
unto
us,
as
is
the
way
of
all
the
earth;
32
come,
we
cause
our
father
to
drink
wine,
and
lie
with
him,
and
preserve
from
our
father
--
a
seed.`
33
And
they
cause
their
father
to
drink
wine
on
that
night;
and
the
first-born
goeth
in,
and
lieth
with
her
father,
and
he
hath
not
known
in
her
lying
down,
or
in
her
rising
up.
34
And
it
cometh
to
pass,
on
the
morrow,
that
the
first-born
saith
unto
the
younger,
`Lo,
I
have
lain
yesterday-night
with
my
father:
we
cause
him
to
drink
wine
also
to-night,
and
go
thou
in,
lie
with
him,
and
we
preserve
from
our
father
--
a
seed.`
35
And
they
cause
their
father
to
drink
wine
on
that
night
also,
and
the
younger
riseth
and
lieth
with
him,
and
he
hath
not
known
in
her
lying
down,
or
in
her
rising
up.
36
And
the
two
daughters
of
Lot
conceive
from
their
father,
37
and
the
first-born
beareth
a
son,
and
calleth
his
name
Moab;
he
is
father
of
Moab
unto
this
day;
38
as
to
the
younger,
she
also
hath
born
a
son,
and
calleth
his
name
Ben-Ammi:
he
is
father
of
the
Beni-Ammon
unto
this
day.

the
men
that
came
in
to
thee
this
night?
bring
them
out
unto
us,
that
we
may
know
them.
6
And
Lot
went
out
unto
them
to
the
door,
and
shut
the
door
after
him.
7
And
he
said,
I
pray
you,
my
brethren,
do
not
so
wickedly.
8
Behold
now,
I
have
two
daughters
that
have
not
known
man;
let
me,
I
pray
you,
bring
them
out
unto
you,
and
do
ye
to
them
as
is
good
in
your
eyes:
only
unto
these
men
do
nothing,
forasmuch
as
they
are
come
under
the
shadow
of
my
roof.
9
And
they
said,
Stand
back.
And
they
said,
This
one
fellow
came
in
to
sojourn,
and
he
will
needs
be
a
judge:
now
will
we
deal
worse
with
thee,
than
with
them.
And
they
pressed
sore
upon
the
man,
even
Lot,
and
drew
near
to
break
the
door.
10
But
the
men
put
forth
their
hand,
and
brought
Lot
into
the
house
to
them,
and
shut
to
the
door.
11
And
they
smote
the
men
that
were
at
the
door
of
the
house
with
blindness,
both
small
and
great,
so
that
they
wearied
themselves
to
find
the
door.
12
And
the
men
said
unto
Lot,
Hast
thou
here
any
besides?
son-in-law,
and
thy
sons,
and
thy
daughters,
and
whomsoever
thou
hast
in
the
city,
bring
them
out
of
the
place:
13
for
we
will
destroy
this
place,
because
the
cry
of
them
is
waxed
great
before
Jehovah:
and
Jehovah
hath
sent
us
to
destroy
it.
14
And
Lot
went
out,
and
spake
unto
his
sons-in-law,
who
married
his
daughters,
and
said,
Up,
get
you
out
of
this
place;
for
Jehovah
will
destroy
the
city.
But
he
seemed
unto
his
sons-in-law
as
one
that
mocked.
15
And
when
the
morning
arose,
then
the
angels
hastened
Lot,
saying,
Arise,
take
thy
wife,
and
thy
two
daughters
that
are
here,
lest
thou
be
consumed
in
the
iniquity
of
the
city.
16
But
he
lingered;
and
the
men
laid
hold
upon
his
hand,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
wife,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
two
daughters,
Jehovah
being
merciful
unto
him;
and
they
brought
him
forth,
and
set
him
without
the
city.
17
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
they
had
brought
them
forth
abroad,
that
he
said,
Escape
for
thy
life;
look
not
behind
thee,
neither
stay
thou
in
all
the
Plain;
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
thou
be
consumed.
18
And
Lot
said
unto
them,
Oh,
not
so,
my
lord:
19
behold
now,
thy
servant
hath
found
favor
in
thy
sight,
and
thou
hast
magnified
thy
lovingkindness,
which
thou
hast
showed
unto
me
in
saving
my
life;
and
I
cannot
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
evil
overtake
me,
and
I
die:
20
behold
now,
this
city
is
near
to
flee
unto,
and
it
is
a
little
one.
Oh
let
me
escape
thither
(is
it
not
a
little
one?),
and
my
soul
shall
live.
21
And
he
said
unto
him,
See,
I
have
accepted
thee
concerning
this
thing
also,
that
I
will
not
overthrow
the
city
of
which
thou
hast
spoken.
22
Haste
thee,
escape
thither;
for
I
cannot
do
anything
till
thou
be
come
thither.
Therefore
the
name
of
the
city
was
called
Zoar.
23
The
sun
was
risen
upon
the
earth
when
Lot
came
unto
Zoar.
24
Then
Jehovah
rained
upon
Sodom
and
upon
Gomorrah
brimstone
and
fire
from
Jehovah
out
of
heaven;
25
and
he
overthrew
those
cities,
and
all
the
Plain,
and
all
the
inhabitants
of
the
cities,
and
that
which
grew
upon
the
ground.
26
But
his
wife
looked
back
from
behind
him,
and
she
became
a
pillar
of
salt.
27
And
Abraham
gat
up
early
in
the
morning
to
the
place
where
he
had
stood
before
Jehovah:
28
and
he
looked
toward
Sodom
and
Gomorrah,
and
toward
all
the
land
of
the
Plain,
and
beheld,
and,
lo,
the
smoke
of
the
land
went
up
as
the
smoke
of
a
furnace.
29
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
God
destroyed
the
cities
of
the
Plain,
that
God
remembered
Abraham,
and
sent
Lot
out
of
the
midst
of
the
overthrow,
when
he
overthrew
the
cities
in
which
Lot
dwelt.
30
And
Lot
went
up
out
of
Zoar,
and
dwelt
in
the
mountain,
and
his
two
daughters
with
him;
for
he
feared
to
dwell
in
Zoar:
and
he
dwelt
in
a
cave,
he
and
his
two
daughters.
31
And
the
first-born
said
unto
the
younger,
Our
father
is
old,
and
there
is
not
a
man
in
the
earth
to
come
in
unto
us
after
the
manner
of
all
the
earth:
32
come,
let
us
make
our
father
drink
wine,
and
we
will
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
33
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night:
and
the
first-born
went
in,
and
lay
with
her
father;
and
he
knew
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
34
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
the
first-born
said
unto
the
younger,
Behold,
I
lay
yesternight
with
my
father:
let
us
make
him
drink
wine
this
night
also;
and
go
thou
in,
and
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
35
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night
also:
and
the
younger
arose,
and
lay
with
him;
and
he
knew
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
36
Thus
were
both
the
daughters
of
Lot
with
child
by
their
father.
37
And
the
first-born
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Moab:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
Moabites
unto
this
day.
38
And
the
younger,
she
also
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Ben-ammi:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
children
of
Ammon
unto
this
day.

great:
so
that
they
wearied
themselves
to
find
the
door.
12
And
the
men
said
unto
Lot,
Hast
thou
here
any
besides?
son
in
law,
and
thy
sons,
and
thy
daughters,
and
whomsoever
thou
hast
in
the
city;
bring
them
out
of
the
place:
13
for
we
will
destroy
this
place,
because
the
cry
of
them
is
waxen
great
before
the
LORD;
and
the
LORD
hath
sent
us
to
destroy
it.
14
And
Lot
went
out,
and
spake
unto
his
sons
in
law,
which
married
his
daughters,
and
said,
Up,
get
you
out
of
this
place;
for
the
LORD
will
destroy
the
city.
But
he
seemed
unto
his
sons
in
law
as
one
that
mocked.
15
And
when
the
morning
arose,
then
the
angels
hastened
Lot,
saying,
Arise,
take
thy
wife,
and
thy
two
daughters
which
are
here;
lest
thou
be
consumed
in
the
iniquity
of
the
city.
16
But
he
lingered;
and
the
men
laid
hold
upon
his
hand,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
wife,
and
upon
the
hand
of
his
two
daughters;
the
LORD
being
merciful
unto
him:
and
they
brought
him
forth,
and
set
him
without
the
city.
17
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
they
had
brought
them
forth
abroad,
that
he
said,
Escape
for
thy
life;
look
not
behind
thee,
neither
stay
thou
in
all
the
Plain;
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
thou
be
consumed.
18
And
Lot
said
unto
them,
Oh,
not
so,
my
lord:
19
behold
now,
thy
servant
hath
found
grace
in
thy
sight,
and
thou
hast
magnified
thy
mercy,
which
thou
hast
shewed
unto
me
in
saving
my
life;
and
I
cannot
escape
to
the
mountain,
lest
evil
overtake
me,
and
I
die:
20
behold
now,
this
city
is
near
to
flee
unto,
and
it
is
a
little
one:
Oh,
let
me
escape
thither,
(is
it
not
a
little
one?)
and
my
soul
shall
live.
21
And
he
said
unto
him,
See,
I
have
accepted
thee
concerning
this
thing
also,
that
I
will
not
overthrow
the
city
of
which
thou
hast
spoken.
22
Haste
thee,
escape
thither;
for
I
cannot
do
any
thing
till
thou
be
come
thither.
Therefore
the
name
of
the
city
was
called
Zoar.
23
The
sun
was
risen
upon
the
earth
when
Lot
came
unto
Zoar.
24
Then
the
LORD
rained
upon
Sodom
and
upon
Gomorrah
brimstone
and
fire
from
the
LORD
out
of
heaven;
25
and
he
overthrew
those
cities,
and
all
the
Plain,
and
all
the
inhabitants
of
the
cities,
and
that
which
grew
upon
the
ground.
26
But
his
wife
looked
back
from
behind
him,
and
she
became
a
pillar
of
salt.
27
And
Abraham
gat
up
early
in
the
morning
to
the
place
where
he
had
stood
before
the
LORD:
28
and
he
looked
toward
Sodom
and
Gomorrah,
and
toward
all
the
land
of
the
Plain,
and
beheld,
and,
lo,
the
smoke
of
the
land
went
up
as
the
smoke
of
a
furnace.
29
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
God
destroyed
the
cities
of
the
Plain,
that
God
remembered
Abraham,
and
sent
Lot
out
of
the
midst
of
the
overthrow,
when
he
overthrew
the
cities
in
the
which
Lot
dwelt.
30
And
Lot
went
up
out
of
Zoar,
and
dwelt
in
the
mountain,
and
his
two
daughters
with
him;
for
he
feared
to
dwell
in
Zoar:
and
he
dwelt
in
a
cave,
he
and
his
two
daughters.
31
And
the
firstborn
said
unto
the
younger,
Our
father
is
old,
and
there
is
not
a
man
in
the
earth
to
come
in
unto
us
after
the
manner
of
all
the
earth:
32
come,
let
us
make
our
father
drink
wine,
and
we
will
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
33
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night:
and
the
firstborn
went
in,
and
lay
with
her
father;
and
he
knew
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
34
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
the
firstborn
said
unto
the
younger,
Behold,
I
lay
yesternight
with
my
father:
let
us
make
him
drink
wine
this
night
also;
and
go
thou
in,
and
lie
with
him,
that
we
may
preserve
seed
of
our
father.
35
And
they
made
their
father
drink
wine
that
night
also:
and
the
younger
arose,
and
lay
with
him;
and
he
knew
not
when
she
lay
down,
nor
when
she
arose.
36
Thus
were
both
the
daughters
of
Lot
with
child
by
their
father.
37
And
the
firstborn
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Moab:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
Moabites
unto
this
day.
38
And
the
younger,
she
also
bare
a
son,
and
called
his
name
Benammi:
the
same
is
the
father
of
the
children
of
Ammon
unto
this
day.

1
The
two
angels
came
to
Sodom
in
the
evening
while
Lot
was
sitting
in
the
city's
gateway.
When
Lot
saw
them,
he
got
up
to
meet
them
and
bowed
down
with
his
face
toward
the
ground.
2
He
said,
"Here,
my
lords,
please
turn
aside
to
your
servant's
house.
Stay
the
night
and
wash
your
feet.
Then
you
can
be
on
your
way
early
in
the
morning."
"No,"
they
replied,
"we'll
spend
the
night
in
the
town
square."
3
But
he
urged
them
persistently,
so
they
turned
aside
with
him
and
entered
his
house.
He
prepared
a
feast
for
them,
including
bread
baked
without
yeast,
and
they
ate.
4
Before
they
could
lie
down
to
sleep,
all
the
men
both
young
and
old,
from
every
part
of
the
city
of
Sodom
surrounded
the
house.
5
They
shouted
to
Lot,
"Where
are
the
men
who
came
to
you
tonight?
Bring
them
out
to
us
so
we
can
have
sex
with
them!"
6
Lot
went
outside
to
them,
shutting
the
door
behind
him.
7
He
said,
"No,
my
brothers!
Don't
act
so
wickedly!
8
Look,
I
have
two
daughters
who
have
never
had
sexual
relations
with
a
man.
Let
me
bring
them
out
to
you,
and
you
can
do
to
them
whatever
you
please.
Only
don't
do
anything
to
these
men,
for
they
have
come
under
the
protection
of
my
roof."
9
"Out
of
our
way!"
they
cried,
and
"This
man
came
to
live
here
as
a
foreigner,
and
now
he
dares
to
judge
us!
We'll
do
more
harm
to
you
than
to
them!"
They
kept
pressing
in
on
Lot
until
they
were
close
enough
to
break
down
the
door.
10
So
the
men
inside
reached
out
and
pulled
Lot
back
into
the
house
as
they
shut
the
door.
11
Then
they
struck
the
men
who
were
at
the
door
of
the
house,
from
the
youngest
to
the
oldest,
with
blindness.
The
men
outside
wore
themselves
out
trying
to
find
the
door.
12
Then
the
two
visitors
said
to
Lot,
"Who
else
do
you
have
here?
Do
you
have
any
sons-in-law,
sons,
daughters,
or
other
relatives
in
the
city?
Get
them
out
of
this
place
13
because
we
are
about
to
destroy
it.
The
outcry
against
this
place
is
so
great
before
the
LORD
that
he
has
sent
us
to
destroy
it."
14
Then
Lot
went
out
and
spoke
to
his
sons-in-law
who
were
going
to
marry
his
daughters.
He
said,
"Quick,
get
out
of
this
place
because
the
LORD
is
about
to
destroy
the
city!"
But
his
sons-in-law
thought
he
was
ridiculing
them.
15
At
dawn
the
angels
hurried
Lot
along,
saying,
"Get
going!
Take
your
wife
and
your
two
daughters
who
are
here,
or
else
you
will
be
destroyed
when
the
city
is
judged!"
16
When
Lot
hesitated,
the
men
grabbed
his
hand
and
the
hands
of
his
wife
and
two
daughters
because
the
LORD
had
compassion
on
them.
They
led
them
away
and
placed
them
outside
the
city.
17
When
they
had
brought
them
outside,
they
said,
"Run
for
your
lives!
Don't
look
behind
you
or
stop
anywhere
in
the
valley!
Escape
to
the
mountains
or
you
will
be
destroyed!"
18
But
Lot
said
to
them,
"No,
please,
Lord!
19
Your
servant
has
found
favor
with
you,
and
you
have
shown
me
great
kindness
by
sparing
my
life.
But
I
am
not
able
to
escape
to
the
mountains
because
this
disaster
will
overtake
me
and
I'll
die.
20
Look,
this
town
over
here
is
close
enough
to
escape
to,
and
it's
just
a
little
one.
Let
me
go
there.
It's
just
a
little
place,
isn't
it?
Then
I'll
survive."
21
"Very
well,"
he
replied,
"I
will
grant
this
request
too
and
will
not
overthrow
the
town
you
mentioned.
22
Run
there
quickly,
for
I
cannot
do
anything
until
you
arrive
there."
(This
incident
explains
why
the
town
was
called
Zoar.)
23
The
sun
had
just
risen
over
the
land
as
Lot
reached
Zoar.
24
Then
the
LORD
rained
down
sulfur
and
fire
on
Sodom
and
Gomorrah.
It
was
sent
down
from
the
sky
by
the
LORD.
25
So
he
overthrew
those
cities
and
all
that
region,
including
all
the
inhabitants
of
the
cities
and
the
vegetation
that
grew
from
the
ground.
26
But
Lot's
wife
looked
back
longingly
and
was
turned
into
a
pillar
of
salt.
27
Abraham
got
up
early
in
the
morning
and
went
to
the
place
where
he
had
stood
before
the
LORD.
28
He
looked
out
toward
Sodom
and
Gomorrah
and
all
the
land
of
that
region.
As
he
did
so,
he
saw
the
smoke
rising
up
from
the
land
like
smoke
from
a
furnace.
29
So
when
God
destroyed
the
cities
of
the
region,
God
honored
Abraham's
request.
He
removed
Lot
from
the
midst
of
the
destruction
when
he
destroyed
the
cities
Lot
had
lived
in.
30
Lot
went
up
from
Zoar
with
his
two
daughters
and
settled
in
the
mountains
because
he
was
afraid
to
live
in
Zoar.
So
he
lived
in
a
cave
with
his
two
daughters.
31
Later
the
older
daughter
said
to
the
younger,
"Our
father
is
old,
and
there
is
no
man
anywhere
nearby
to
have
sexual
relations
with
us,
according
to
the
way
of
all
the
world.
32
Come,
let's
make
our
father
drunk
with
wine
so
we
can
have
sexual
relations
with
him
and
preserve
our
family
line
through
our
father."
33
So
that
night
they
made
their
father
drunk
with
wine,
and
the
older
daughter
came
and
had
sexual
relations
with
her
father.
But
he
was
not
aware
that
she
had
sexual
relations
with
him
and
then
got
up.
34
So
in
the
morning
the
older
daughter
said
to
the
younger,
"Since
I
had
sexual
relations
with
my
father
last
night,
let's
make
him
drunk
again
tonight.
Then
you
go
and
have
sexual
relations
with
him
so
we
can
preserve
our
family
line
through
our
father."
35
So
they
made
their
father
drunk
that
night
as
well,
and
the
younger
one
came
and
had
sexual
relations
with
him.
But
he
was
not
aware
that
she
had
sexual
relations
with
him
and
then
got
up.
36
In
this
way
both
of
Lot's
daughters
became
pregnant
by
their
father.
37
The
older
daughter
gave
birth
to
a
son
and
named
him
Moab.
He
is
the
ancestor
of
the
Moabites
of
today.
38
The
younger
daughter
also
gave
birth
to
a
son
and
named
him
Ben-Ammi.
He
is
the
ancestor
of
the
Ammonites
of
today.

please
don't

They
have

house,
and
I
must
protect
them."
9
The
men
surrounding
the
house
answered,
"Get
out
of
our
way!"
They
said
to
themselves,
"This
man
Lot
came
to
our
city
as
a
visitor.
Now
he
wants
to
tell
us
how
we
should
live!"
Then
the
men
said
to
Lot,
"We
will
do
worse
things
to
you
than
to
them."
So
the
men
started
moving
closer
and
closer
to
Lot.
They
were
about
to
break
down
the
door.
10
But
the
two
men
staying
with
Lot
opened
the
door,
pulled
him
back
inside
the
house,
and
closed
the
door.
11
Then
they
did
something
to
the
men
outside
the
doorthey
caused
all
these
evil
men,
young
and
old,
to
become
blind.
So
the
men
trying
to
get
in
the
house
could
not
find
the
door.
12
The
two
men
said
to
Lot,
"Are
there
any
other
people
from
your
family
living
in
this
city?
Do
you
have
any
sons-in-law,
sons,
daughters,
or
any
other
people
from
your
family
here?
If
so,
you
should
tell
them
to
leave
now.
13
We
are
going
to
destroy
this
city.
The
Lord
heard
how
evil
this
city
is,
so
he
sent
us
to
destroy
it."
14
So
Lot
went
out
and
spoke
to
his
sonsin-
law,
the
men
who
had
married
his
other
daughters.
He
said,
"Hurry
and
leave
this
city!
The
Lord
will
soon
destroy
it!"
But
they
thought
he
was
joking.
15
The
next
morning
at
dawn,
the
angels
were
trying
to
make
Lot
hurry.
They
said,
"This
city
will
be
punished,
so
take
your
wife
and
your
two
daughters
who
are
still
with
you
and
leave
this
place.
Then
you
will

with
the
city."

When
Lot
did
not
move
fast
enough,
the
two
men
grabbed
his
hand.
They
also
took
the
hands
of
his
wife
and
his
two
daughters.
The
two
men
led
Lot
and
his
family
safely
out
of
the
city.
The
Lord
was
kind
to
Lot
and
his
family.
17
So
after
the
two
men
brought
Lot
and
his
family
out
of
the
city,
one
of
the
men
said,
"Now
run
to
save
your
life!
Don't
look
back
at
the
city,
and
don't
stop
anywhere
in
the
valley.
Run
until
you
are
in
the
mountains.
If
you
stop,
you
will
be
destroyed
with
the
city!"
18
But
Lot
said
to
the
two
men,
"Sirs,
please
don't
force
me
to
run
so
far!
19
You
have
been
very
kind
to
me,
your
servant.
You
have
been
very
kind
to
save
me,
but
I
cannot
run
all
the
way
to
the
mountains.
What
if
I
am
too
slow
and
something
happens?
I
will
be
killed!
20
Look,
there
is
a
very
small
town
near
here.
Let
me
run
to
that
town.
I
can
run
there
and
be
safe."
21
The
angel
said
to
Lot,
"Very
well,
I'll
let
you
do
that.
I
will
not
destroy
that
town.
22
But
run
there
quickly.
I
cannot
destroy
Sodom
until
you
are
safely
in
that
town."
(That
town
is
named
Zoar,
because
it
is
a
small
town.)
23
Lot
was
entering
the
town
as
the
sun
came
up,
24
and
the
Lord
began
to
destroy
Sodom
and
Gomorrah.
He
caused
fire
and
burning
sulfur
to
fall
from
the
sky.
25
He
destroyed
the
whole
valleyall
the
cities,
the
people
living
in
the
cities,
and
all
the
plants
in
the
valley.
26
Lot's
wife
was
following
behind
him
and
looked
back
at
the
city.
When
she
did,
she
became
a
block
of
salt.
27
Early
the
next
morning,
Abraham
got
up
and
went
to
the
place
where
he
stood
before
the
Lord.
28
Abraham
looked
down
into
the
valley
toward
the
cities
of
Sodom
and
Gomorrah.
He
saw
clouds
of
smoke
rising
from
the
land,
like
smoke
from
a
furnace.
29
God
destroyed
the
cities
in
the
valley,
but
he
remembered
what
Abraham
had
said.
So
God
sent
Lot
away
from
those
cities
before
destroying
them.
30
Lot
was
afraid
to
stay
in
Zoar,
so
he
and
his
two
daughters
went
to
live
in
the
mountains
in
a
cave.
31
One
day
the
older
daughter
said
to
the
younger,
"Everywhere
on
the
earth,
men
and
women
marry
and
have
a
family.
But
our
father
is
old,
and
there
are
no
men
around
here
to
give
us
children.
32
So
let's
get
our
father
drunk
with
wine.
Then
we
can
have
sex
with
him.
That
way
we
can
use
our
father
to
keep
our
family
alive!"
33
That
night
the
two
girls
went
to
their
father
and
got
him
drunk
with
wine.
Then
the
older
daughter
went
and
had
sexual
relations
with
him.
He
did
not
even
know
when
she
came
to
bed
or
when
she
got
up.
34
The
next
day
the
older
daughter
said
to
the
younger
daughter,
"Last
night
I
went
to
bed
with
my
father.
Let's
get
him
drunk
with
wine
again
tonight.
Then
you
can
go
and
have
sex
with
him.
In
this
way
we
can
use
our
father
to
have
children,
and
our
family
will
not
come
to
an
end."
35
So
that
night
the
two
girls
got
their
father
drunk
with
wine.
Then
the
younger
daughter
went
and
had
sexual
relations
with
him.
Again,
Lot
did
not
know
when
she
came
to
bed
or
when
she
got
up.
36
Both
of
Lot's
daughters
became
pregnant.
Their
father
was
the
father
of
their
babies.
37
The
older
daughter
gave
birth
to
a
son.
She
named
him
Moab.
Moab
is
the
ancestor
of
all
the
Moabites
living
today.
38
The
younger
daughter
also
gave
birth
to
a
son.
She
named
him
Ben-Ammi.
Ben-
Ammi
is
the
ancestor
of
all
the
Ammonites
living
today.
