Leviticus 17:1 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 `Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel; and thou hast said unto them, This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded, saying,
3 Any man of the house of Israel who slaughtereth ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or who slaughtereth at the outside of the camp,
4 and unto the opening of the tent of meeting hath not brought it in to bring near an offering to Jehovah before the tabernacle of Jehovah, blood is reckoned to that man -- blood he hath shed -- and that man hath been cut off from the midst of his people;
5 so that the sons of Israel do bring in their sacrifices which they are sacrificing on the face of the field, yea, they have brought them in to Jehovah, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, and they have sacrificed sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah with them.
6 `And the priest hath sprinkled the blood upon the altar of Jehovah, at the opening of the tent of meeting, and hath made perfume with the fat for sweet fragrance to Jehovah;
7 and they sacrifice not any more their sacrifices to goats after which they are going a-whoring; a statute age-during is this to them, to their generations.
8 `And unto them thou sayest: Any man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners, who sojourneth in your midst, who causeth burnt-offering or sacrifice to ascend,
9 and unto the opening of the tent of meeting doth not bring it in to make it to Jehovah -- that man hath been cut off from his people.
10 `And any man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners, who is sojourning in your midst, who eateth any blood, I have even set My face against the person who is eating the blood, and have cut him off from the midst of his people;
11 for the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar, to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood which maketh atonement for the soul.
12 `Therefore I have said to the sons of Israel, No person among you doth eat blood, and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst doth not eat blood;
13 and any man of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners, who is sojourning in your midst, who hunteth venison, beast or fowl, which is eaten -- hath even poured out its blood, and hath covered it with dust;
14 for it is the life of all flesh, its blood is for its life; and I say to the sons of Israel, Blood of any flesh ye do not eat, for the life of all flesh is its blood; any one eating it is cut off.
15 `And any person who eateth a carcase or torn thing, among natives or among sojourners -- hath both washed his garments, and hath bathed with water, and hath been unclean until the evening -- then he hath been clean;
16 and if he wash not, and his flesh bathe not -- then he hath borne his iniquity.`

2 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP Aaron H175 , and unto H413 W-PREP his sons H1121 CMP-3MS , and unto H413 W-PREP all H3605 NMS the children H1121 CMP-3MS of Israel H3478 , and say H559 unto H413 PREP-3MP them ; This H2088 DPRO is the thing H1697 D-NMS which H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS hath commanded H6680 VPQ3MS , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
3 What man soever H376 NMS there be of the house H1004 of Israel H3478 , that H834 RPRO killeth H7819 an ox H7794 CMS , or H176 CONJ lamb H3775 , or H176 CONJ goat H5795 , in the camp H4264 , or H176 CONJ that H834 RPRO killeth H7819 it out of the camp H4264 ,
4 And bringeth H935 it not H3808 NADV unto H413 W-PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS , to offer H7126 an offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS before H6440 L-CMP the tabernacle H4908 of the LORD H3068 EDS ; blood H1818 NMS shall be imputed H2803 unto that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS man H376 D-NMS ; he hath shed H8210 blood H1818 NMS ; and that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS man H376 D-NMS shall be cut off H3772 from among H7130 his people H5971 :
5 To the end H4616 L-CONJ that H834 RPRO the children H1121 of Israel H3478 may bring H935 their sacrifices H2077 , which H834 RPRO they H1992 PPRO-3MP offer H2076 in H5921 PREP the open H6440 CMP field H7704 D-NMS , even that they may bring H935 them unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , unto H413 PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS , unto H413 PREP the priest H3548 , and offer H2076 them for peace H8002 offerings H2077 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS .
6 And the priest H3548 shall sprinkle H2236 the blood H1818 upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 of the LORD H3068 EDS at the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS , and burn H6999 the fat H2459 for a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
7 And they shall no H3808 W-NPAR more H5750 ADV offer H2076 their sacrifices H2077 unto devils H8163 , after H310 whom H834 RPRO they H1992 PPRO-3MP have gone a whoring H2181 . This H2063 DPRO-3FS shall be H1961 VQY2MS a statute H2708 forever H5769 NMS unto them throughout their generations H1755 .
8 And thou shalt say H559 unto H413 them , Whatsoever man H376 NMS there be of the house H1004 of Israel H3478 , or of H4480 W-PREP the strangers H1616 which H834 RPRO sojourn H1481 among H8432 you , that H834 RPRO offereth H5927 VQY3MS a burnt offering H5930 or H176 CONJ sacrifice H2077 ,
9 And bringeth H935 it not H3808 NADV unto H413 W-PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS , to offer H6213 L-VQFC it unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS ; even that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS man H376 D-NMS shall be cut off H3772 from among his people H5971 .
10 And whatsoever man H376 NMS there be of the house H1004 of Israel H3478 , or of H4480 W-PREP the strangers H1616 that sojourn H1481 among H8432 you , that H834 RPRO eateth H398 VQY3MS any manner H3605 NMS of blood H1818 NMS ; I will even set H5414 my face H6440 CMP-1MS against that soul H5315 that eateth H398 blood H1818 , and will cut him off H3772 from among H7130 his people H5971 .
11 For H3588 CONJ the life H5315 GFS of the flesh H1320 D-NMS is in the blood H1818 : and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS have given H5414 it to you upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 D-NMS to make an atonement H3722 for H5921 PREP your souls H5315 GFS : for H3588 CONJ it H1931 PPRO-3FS is the blood H1818 that maketh an atonement H3722 for the soul H5315 GFS .
12 Therefore H5921 PREP I said H559 VQQ1MS unto the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 , No H3808 NADV soul H5315 GFS of H4480 M-PPRO-2MS you shall eat H398 VQY2MS blood H1818 NMS , neither H3808 NADV shall any stranger H1616 that sojourneth H1481 among H8432 you eat H398 VQY3MS blood H1818 NMS .
13 And whatsoever man H376 NMS there be of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , or of H4480 W-PREP the strangers H1616 that sojourn H1481 among H8432 you , which H834 RPRO hunteth H6679 and catcheth H6718 any beast H2416 AFS or H176 CONJ fowl H5775 NMS that H834 RPRO may be eaten H398 ; he shall even pour out H8210 the blood H1818 CMS-3MS thereof , and cover H3680 it with dust H6083 .
14 For H3588 CONJ it is the life H5315 GFS of all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS ; the blood H1818 CMS-3MS of it is for the life H5315 GFS thereof : therefore I said H559 unto the children H1121 L-CMP of Israel H3478 , Ye shall eat H398 the blood H1818 CMS of no manner H3605 NMS of flesh H1320 NMS : for H3588 CONJ the life H5315 GFS of all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS is the blood H1818 CMS-3MS thereof : whosoever H3605 NMS eateth H398 it shall be cut off H3772 .
15 And every H3605 W-CMS soul H5315 GFS that H834 RPRO eateth H398 VQY2MS that which died H5038 of itself , or that which was torn H2966 with beasts , whether it be one of your own country H249 , or a stranger H1616 , he shall both wash H3526 his clothes H899 , and bathe H7364 himself in water H4325 BD-NMP , and be unclean H2930 until H5704 PREP the even H6153 : then shall he be clean H2891 .
16 But if H518 W-PART he wash H3526 them not H3808 NADV , nor H3808 NADV bathe H7364 his flesh H1320 ; then he shall bear H5375 his iniquity H5771 .
