2. Till when dost thou speak these things? And a strong wind -- sayings of thy mouth?
|
2. How long H5704 H575 wilt thou speak H4448 these H428 things ? and how long shall the words H561 of thy mouth H6310 be like a strong H3524 wind H7307 ?
|
3. Doth God pervert judgment? And doth the Mighty One pervert justice?
|
3. Doth God H410 pervert H5791 judgment H4941 ? or H518 doth the Almighty H7706 pervert H5791 justice H6664 ?
|
4. If thy sons have sinned before Him, And He doth send them away, By the hand of their transgression,
|
4. If H518 thy children H1121 have sinned H2398 against him , and he have cast them away H7971 for H3027 their transgression H6588 ;
|
5. If thou dost seek early unto God, And unto the Mighty makest supplication,
|
5. If H518 thou H859 wouldest seek unto God quickly H7836 H413 H410 , and make thy supplication H2603 to H413 the Almighty H7706 ;
|
6. If pure and upright thou art, Surely now He waketh for thee, And hath completed The habitation of thy righteousness.
|
6. If H518 thou H859 wast pure H2134 and upright H3477 ; surely H3588 now H6258 he would awake H5782 for H5921 thee , and make the habitation H5116 of thy righteousness H6664 prosperous H7999 .

7. And thy beginning hath been small, And thy latter end is very great.
|

|
8. For, ask I pray thee of a former generation, And prepare to a search of their fathers,
|

9. (For of yesterday we are, and we know not, For a shadow are our days on earth.)
|
9. ( For H3588 we H587 are but of yesterday H8543 , and know H3045 nothing H3808 , because H3588 our days H3117 upon H5921 earth H776 are a shadow H6738 :)

10. Do they not shew thee -- speak to thee, And from their heart bring forth words?
|
10. Shall not H3808 they H1992 teach H3384 thee, and tell H559 thee , and utter H3318 words H4405 out of their heart H4480 H3820 ?

11. `Doth a rush wise without mire? A reed increase without water?
|
11. Can the rush H1573 grow up H1342 without H3808 mire H1207 ? can the flag H260 grow H7685 without H1097 water H4325 ?
|
12. While it is in its budding -- uncropt, Even before any herb it withereth.
|
12. Whilst it is yet H5750 in his greenness H3 , and not H3808 cut down H6998 , it withereth H3001 before H6440 any H3605 other herb H2682 .

13. So are the paths of all forgetting God, And the hope of the profane doth perish,
|

14. Whose confidence is loathsome, And the house of a spider his trust.
|

|
15. He leaneth on his house -- and it standeth not: He taketh hold on it -- and it abideth not.
|
15. He shall lean H8172 upon H5921 his house H1004 , but it shall not H3808 stand H5975 : he shall hold it fast H2388 , but it shall not H3808 endure H6965 .
|
16. Green he is before the sun, And over his garden his branch goeth out.
|

|
17. By a heap his roots are wrapped, A house of stones he looketh for.
|

|
18. If one doth destroy him from his place, Then it hath feigned concerning him, I have not seen thee!
|
18. If H518 he destroy H1104 him from his place H4480 H4725 , then it shall deny H3584 him, saying , I have not H3808 seen H7200 thee.

19. Lo, this is the joy of his way, And from the dust others spring up.`
|
19. Behold H2005 , this H1931 is the joy H4885 of his way H1870 , and out of the earth H4480 H6083 shall others H312 grow H6779 .
|
20. Lo, God doth not reject the perfect, Nor taketh hold on the hand of evil doers.
|
20. Behold H2005 , God H410 will not H3808 cast away H3988 a perfect H8535 man , neither H3808 will he help H2388 H3027 the evildoers H7489 :
|
21. While he filleth with laughter thy mouth, And thy lips with shouting,
|
21. Till H5704 he fill H4390 thy mouth H6310 with laughing H7814 , and thy lips H8193 with rejoicing H8643 .
|
22. Those hating thee do put on shame, And the tent of the wicked is not!
|
22. They that hate H8130 thee shall be clothed H3847 with shame H1322 ; and the dwelling place H168 of the wicked H7563 shall come to naught H369 .
